Recently, BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated “DEADLINE” world tour kicked off on July 5 at Goyang Stadium, South Korea, drawing over 40,000 fans and sending social media into a frenzy. However, amid the excitement of the group’s return, a chaotic moment broke out during the show, prompting decisive reactions from the members.
In particular, during a post-performance segment following their new track “JUMP”, a wave of fans from the VIP section broke protocol, rushing toward the barricade in front of the stage. The situation escalated when a fan threw a Labubu toy onto the stage – an act considered by many as disrespectful and potentially dangerous.
In response, Lisa (BLACKPINK) acted swiftly, picking up the plush and tossing it offstage. She directly signaled the crowd to stop such behavior, setting a firm tone as she said “Don’t throw things”. Jennie and Rosé also stepped in, calmly addressing the crowd in English and asking everyone to return to their seats and maintain order.
This isn’t the first time BLACKPINK has had to pause their performance to de-escalate overly enthusiastic crowd behavior. Similar issues occurred during the girl group’s “BORN PINK” tour, where the members often asked fans to create space for safety.
Notably, Lisa has a history of objecting to plush toys being thrown on stage. Some fans speculate that such items could hide spy cameras or recording devices, making her reaction a necessary precaution. She had previously expressed clear disapproval on at least four occasions, including during soundcheck sessions, where she openly showed discomfort.
Despite the momentary chaos, the “DEADLINE” concert was an emotional reunion for fans, marking BLACKPINK’s first full-stage performance in three years. With no prior album teasers or major promotions, the tour still achieved sold-out status across multiple countries, proving the group’s enduring global appeal.
However, the kickoff concert was not without incidents, as many fans are expressing their discontent with their poor view despite paying high ticket prices. Additionally, Jennie suffered from a wardrobe malfunction, drawing concerns from the remaining members.
As BLACKPINK continues their tour, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of concert etiquette, not only for fan experience, but more importantly, for the safety of the artists on stage.
